Head of Design

At TrailLite, our mission is to give Kiwis the keys to their next adventure with thoughtfully crafted motorhomes and caravans. We’re looking for a Design Manager who will champion this mission, steering the design and development of TrailLite products to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and seamless production.
The Role
- You will lead the Design team, providing expert technical guidance to create innovative designs that delight our customers, while also spearheading the development of exciting, brand-new products as part of our growth plans.
- Strategic input into designs, manage product roadmaps, and align design with customer feedback and market trends.
- You will be working closely with manufacturing, sales and marketing developing ideas and ensuring smooth transitions from development to production
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
About You
You are a seasoned design leader with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating products that connect with our customers. To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Engineering, or related field
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in product design, ideally within the motorhome, caravan industries
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong attention to detail, organised and adaptable
- Skilled in project management working collaboratively with cross functional teams
- Technical expertise in CAD, 3D modelling, project management, and manufacturing processes (LEAN experience is a bonus).

We have a Fixed-term opportunity for an enthusiastic Service Advisor to join our team. You’ll be the frontline contact for our Service Centre customers, representing the face of TrailLite. In this role, you’ll ensure our customers receive top-notch service, while maintaining our strong reputation for quality and professionalism.
